Extruder Barrels

In the process of extrusion, screws are used to process the raw material into a usable form to make the final product required. However, the performance of the screw is dependant on numerous factors, and we design and manufacture all types of barrels, single and twin. We have the capacity to handle barrels up to 6m in length from all manufacturers ⁽¹⁾.

We can manufacture a nitrided NiCrAl steel barrel in approximately 2-3 weeks depending on it's size and design complexity. All work is done in-house except heat treatment which we subcontract to our specialist engineering partners.

We also manufacture bimetallic barrels from imported blanks that we keep in stock. A bimetallic barrel can be made in as little as a week and they offer superior wear resistance for customers who are using particularly abrasive materials such as recycled post-consumer films, titanium whiteners , calcium carbonate fillers and glass fillers.

Extruder Screws

We have the ability to design and manufacture almost any type of extruder screw, from cross-linked polyethylene to soap and even cellulose. We can manufacture a screw in as little as two weeks in our works, including heat treatment time. Bimetallic screws can be imported in any design from our international suppliers.

Pipe Calibrators

We have manufactured numerous pipe and profile calibrators, both atmospheric and vacuum in design.

Breaker Plates

We make through-hardened breaker plates of any size and any number of holes.

Screen Changers

We manufacture manual and hydraulic screen changers for extruders from as small as 25mm to as large as 180mm in diameter.

We have the capacity to handle barrels up to 6m in length from all manufacturers ⁽¹⁾.

Injection Moulder Screws

In the process of injection moulding, screws are used to process the raw material into a usable form to make the injection and the forming final product required within the die cavity. However, the performance of the screw is dependant on numerous factors, and we design and manufacture all types of screws, single and twin. All work is done in-house except heat treatment which we subcontract to our specialist engineering partners. We have the capacity to handle screws up to 6m in length from all manufacturers⁽¹⁾.

Tip Sets

We manufacture both replacement and custom-designed tips sets for injection moulders. If you are experiencing problems with limited shot weight, poor cushion retension and long cycle times, we can design an tip to suit your process. All out tips are made with specialised NiCrAl nitriding steel and are heat treated and/or nitrided depending on the configuration. We are able to make specialised ring-less PVC injection moulder tips.

Barrel End Caps

If you need to replace a broken end cap or want to increase the bore of your injection moulder, we can manufacture an end cap either according to your design or a design by our experienced team.

Injection Moulder Nozzles

If you need to replace a broken or worn nozzle or want to increase the length of your nozzle, we can manufacture a new one either according to your design or a design by our experienced team.

Tie Bars

We manufacture all types of tie-bars.

Tie bar tolerances are critical to the efficient operation of injection moulders, and we are able to manufacture tie-bars up to 6m in length by machining, grinding, chroming and re-finishing to original equipment specification and quailty levels.

Rotary Joints (Unions)

We can supply rotary joints for water or oil cooling rubber, PVC and other extruder screws that require lower processing temperatures. We supply dual flow, siphon-type rotary unions which are uniquely designed for the extrusion process.

Pulverisers

We are the only supplier in South Africa that manufacture liners for Altenberger III pulverisers.

Shredders

We can supply shredder blades according to any design or specification and from a number of materials according to the processing material.

Granulators

We can supply granulator blades according to any design or specification and from a number of materials according to the processing material.

Supply of Complete Lines

Recycling Lines

We specialise in supplying equipment for recycling just about any type of plastic. From LD and HD film to BOPP film, polypropylene bags and lumps half a cubic meter in size, we have machines for any grinding, granulating, agglomerating, washing, extrusion and pelletising problem you may have.

Film Blowing Lines

We supply and repair film blowing extruders of all types and sizes from all manufacturers. Standard lines are composed of extruder, film die, take-up and winder. Optional extras are normally an auto loader, embossing roller, corona treater, rotary die, and automatic screen changers. We can supply machines for co-extrusion up to five layers for multi-layer films.

Tape Lines for Rope, Twine and Bags

We supply and repair tape lines that produce the polypropylene drawn tape for the manufacture of bags, ropes, twines and baler twine.

Slitters/Rewinders

We supply slitters and rewinders for film blowing lines.

Corona Treaters

Corona treatment is widely used in plastic packaging industries for increasing surface tension of plastic films before printing and lamination. Corona Treatment is used for Blown Films, Cast Films, Sheet Extrusion, Metallic Substrates, Polyester, Lamination, Aseptic Packaging Materials, Printing and UV Applications. We can provide the treaters with associated generator and high voltage transformer, and include soft start, and fixed frequency, with variable pulse with for power control.

Pelletisers (Pelletizers)

We are able to supply all types of pelleters including strand pelletisers, water ring cooling pelletisers, air cooling pelletisers and underwater pelletisers.

Utilities - Air coolers, Chillers, Compressors

In order to support the efficient running of our extrusion lines, we supply air coolers, chillers, and air compressors.

Press Components

Press Platens

We specialise in supplying double-daylight platens to increase the loading capacity of presses by 100%. Our platens can be supplied as electrically heated or steam heated. We have supplied platens as large as 2000mm x 2000mm x 120mm, weighing amlont 4 tons. We have supplied platens to the rubber industry where they are used in the pressing of rubber pump linings for the mining industry.
